Did you know that the recent “ series of cards, what I call the “carnival squad” (you know cards like Jackie, jack, Elisabeth, Bell and Todd) are all historical serial killers?

They are based on real people! All except Todd.

Most famous of them all is of course

Jack = Who is Jack the ripper, the Whitechapel murders (needs no introduction here)

2nd most famous is probably Elisabeth

Who is based on Elsbet Bathory a Hungarian countess who legend has it bath in the blood of virgins, as she believe this could keep her looking young. Diablo II has her in Act I “the bloody countess” or someshit, I have a few pieces of fictional literature about her in my private library.

Historical accounts has it that she love to torture people and killed up to 600+ peasant girls and servants. (involves severe beatings, burning or mutilation of hands, biting the flesh off the faces, arms and other body parts, freezing or starving to death.)

At first no one gave a shit, because only adolescent peasant girls were dying. Some people even supplied her girls to satisfy her “needs”. But when she started killing some lesser nobles it became a little contentious. After a few years the King reluctantly had to send someone to investigate.

She was subsequently found guilty but was never tried due to her noble status but locked away in one of her family castles until she died 4 years later. Her 4 servants who aided her all died (save one who was imprisoned) of horrible deaths by the authorities.

All of her servants testified against her except for one who refused and subsequently had her eyes gouged out and breast removed by the authorities before being burned at the stake.  Legend has it that after Elsbet died she returned from the grave to haunt the land.  Links of Elsbet with vampirism is common in early literature.

Jackie the postwoman is based on Spring Heeled Jack.

a Victorian Urban myth in the 1800s about a stalker dress in bat/devil clothing (just think Batman) that can leap tall fences to get away. He likes to scare people by jumping in front of them at night. He prefer to target women and he especially like to rip women's clothes off, have a good fondle and the run away as soon as the victim screams lol. There were many police records of such incidents and witnesses of Spring Heeled Jack. and many postulates that he was supposed to be a member of the gentry who dressed in scary clothing for a dare. Spring heeled Jack is the only NON –serial killer of the 5! Find comfort in that!

Bell the Poppy Bride

Good lordly…. What can I say about her?

Fat chick, born in Norway but immigrated to USA around mid 1800s (cant remember exact dates). She just loves to murder people. Murdered her husband, her children and would be suitors. All so she can claim insurance money. After her 1st husbands died, she remarried and also killed the 2nd husband. Claiming that he tripped and fell onto something sharp and heavy. Locals couldn’t believe that her husband who was a skilled pig farmer had died that way as he was not a clumsy man.  After her 2nd husband died, she moved to some other American state and purchased a large estate and posted adverts in newspapers about a single woman looking for a partner of “suitable means” lol.

She would invite the suitors to her estate (asking them to bring money or cheque) and then poison their food and use a cleaver to chop them up while incapacitated. Killed about 36 people in total. She faked her death (by decapitating a woman and then using her body as hers) and burned the house down with the headless woman’s body inside and ran away to some other state … assumed another identity….never to be seen again like I mean jaysis….  Wtf!!!

(Most of the bodies (and belongings of her victims) were found buried somewhere her estate when the police investigated.)

Todd

Well todd is based on a fictitious character called Sweeney Todd who was a barber in cahoots with a pie shop owner down the road.
He would slit his customers throat and package the body off to the pie shop owner (who was a woman) and she would use their meat in the pies.

Sweeney Tood not a historical person though so bleh. But the Sweeney Todd story is reputed to be based on a incident that happened in Victorian England!
So there you go......

I found this rather interesting that TOS would based their series of cards on serial killers and stalkers.. lol

This is coming from a game that has ducks, Santa and Rudolf as cards…..
