TOS / KOA chat room
Is there another way (other than through the TOS program) to access the chat room? I just thought of this today, since we are having server maintenance and cant access it through TOS during said maintenance. It would also be nice to chat using a computer with a hardware keyboard.
I assume (erhaps wrongly) that the TOS/KOA chat room is an IRC chat room which should be accessible some other way. Any help greatly appreciated.

In a totally off-tangent response ... may I know if that's your black poodle in your avatar picture?

Kakaotalk - for a better communication
I wanted to make a new thread but I'm too lazy,...so I guess it fits in here as well.
I want to talk about KAKAOTALK
Its a free Chat programm like Whatsapp, BUT there is no limit for groups.
It can be used on Android, IOS, PC, MAC. (even Ipod, Tablets and so on)
It seems to me that you need a phonenumber for registration but instead of sharing numbers to add new persons, you'll get a personal ID you can share, so no one sees your number. In addition: My little brother max uses the app on his Ipod (No phonenumber!). So he used the number of his real mobilephone to receive the code and now he uses kakaotalk without having a smartphone, just his ipod touch.
It has a very good rating on Android store.
I'll try to point out some of the positive aspects, even my english isnt that good
Kakaotalk:
- it's free
- easy to install (registration)
- numbers will not be shown, you'll have ID's
- unlimited number of members in a group
- similar to whatsapp
- seperate background pictures for every chat
- you can rename every chat partner on your own
- special functions 4 group chat like: calendars, voting section
there are a few more cool things but like i've said: I'm a student, I'm lazy!
IMPORTANT: I've seen much TOS gameplay where people are communicating with their guild with the help of whatsapp. I dont need to mention that the TOS chat is messed up (no pictures, missing messages when offline, too short messages) and it may take a while on forum to get answers.
I already use Kakao, so you can ask me for my ID. Or maybe we'll find a better way to communicate faster with each other. Or we should discuss this issue in a complete new topic (which I wont create )
thanks for your attention, if you find mistakes you can keep them xD

Re: TOS / KOA chat room
A highly popular chat program in this part of the world is "Line". It might be an option also. IIRC, there is also no need to share phone numbers. You can chat, send photos, make voice calls via voice over IP, make video calls, chat (with multiple "chat rooms/groups", etc., etc.. My wife and I often make voip calls to Singapore with no problems. One nice thing about it is you can share contacts via QR code -- just point your phone's camera at the QR code, and you have the contact.

Re: TOS / KOA chat room
We did have that discussion before prior to setting of this forum. There was a higher percentage who were for the forums thus this was implemented. I'm not sure if having a chat program will supersede this forum but I agree a forum isn't "live" enough. Tho the benefits is that its more organized in getting relevant information (not everything chunked into a chatbox which is what we're facing in the guild chat).
Maybe the forum for more organized information collation/retrieval, and a chat app for fun talk and random musings.
I'm agreeable either way

Re: TOS / KOA chat room
One thing I have noticed on the chat room is that sometimes a knight will, on the spur of the moment, give instructions on how to do a level, build a team, evolve or lower the cd of monsters, or the like. These chats are very informative and it would be very useful to be able to go back and read them again. This would be possible with a chat program like line or kakao.
BTW, I just installed Kakao, and I don't seem to be able to use it without wifi. Does it work over mobile data connections? I know line does.
Line also supports Chinese/Japanese/Korean characters for those who would be interested in that (those in Asia or of Asian descent.)
I see now that Kakaotalk also supports Asian languages, so it is on par with Line in that respect.
As far as I can see, the main -- perhaps relevant -- difference is in the size of the user base. Line has about 10x more users.

Very cute. My partner's dream dog. Black (looks like a standard) poodle.
We've got a tiny white one (pics in the Introduction thread) named ... Oolong Tea

Re: TOS / KOA chat room
I have used both Line and Kakaotalk before. IMO, they both are very similar to each other. Thus, anyone of them would be a good choice as KoA's chatting platform. However, I find Kakaotalk a little cuter than Line
